Confindustria Lecco and Sondrio has organized the meeting entitled RFID IDENTIFICATION SOLUTIONS: OPPORTUNITIES AND ADVANTAGES FOR COMPANIES for Thursday 19 May (Lecco headquarters – 4.00 pm).
Radio Frequency Identification or RFID is a technology based on electronic labels, called tags, and reading/writing devices connected to information systems, used to uniquely identify objects and individuals and acquire, in a completely automatic way, information regarding their movements and transformations along the Supply Chain.
The main distinctive features of this technology are the automation of reading and the uniqueness of the tag, characterized by a unique and non-replicable serial number which makes it a powerful anti-counterfeiting tool. RFID has been talked about for some time now and it is used in various sectors, in particular in those linked to consumer goods, textiles and fashion, medical and food. However, this technology is also rapidly spreading in other fields such as automotive, plant engineering and metalworking in its broadest sense.
Supply chain optimization and anti-counterfeiting generate value in various areas in which RFID technology, which involves a strong link with the Internet of Things, can find application, bringing advantages to the companies that apply it, especially due to the ability to connect to the network and of effective exchange of information.
To deepen knowledge of Radio Frequency Identification, Confindustria Lecco and Sondrio has organized the meeting scheduled for Thursday with the spin-off company of the University of Parma, ID-Solutions. In fact, the University has an active “Rfid Lab”, one of the most important centers at an international level for the research, experimentation and development of RFID technologies and related applications to business processes.
